Matt Ornstein and Rick Gorham have a proven track record in luxury home development. Learn more about each of them below.
Matt Ornstein
Co-Chairman
Matt Ornstein grew up in Atlanta Georgia and moved to Jacksonville Florida in 2011 where he currently resides. Matt graduated with a business degree in 1990 from the McIntyre School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and began his career at The Home Depot and transitioned into real estate investing and development in the mid-1990s in Atlanta Georgia.
Matt Ornstein won multiple 1st place awards at The Greater Atlanta Homebuilder’s Association in the early 2000s for his multi-family developments and later transitioned into luxury single family development as part of his real estate development portfolio of companies.
Matt is the Co-Founder (and Co-Owner) of David Patterson Homes in Forsyth County Georgia and has built and sold over 100 luxury homes since 2021 and has won 8 Best in Class awards from The Greater Atlanta Homebuilder’s Association for his single-family homes.
Matt recently designed, built and sold a $5,000,000 luxury home in Atlanta Georgia that resulted in the highest recent sale in its zip code in 2023.
Matt’s passionate focus on design, flow, and attention to detail is best in class.
Matt’s personal interests include time with friends & family, bike riding, reading, skiing, surfing and travel. Throughout Matt’s career, he has generously supported the community and many charitable organizations.
Rick Gorham
Co-Chairman
Rick Gorham grew up in St. Louis Missouri and moved to Jacksonville Florida in 2001 where he currently resides in Ponte Vedra.
Rick started his career with 5 years HVAC design and installation. Rick then transferred to the carpenter union as an apprentice carpenter building custom residential homes. After quickly moving his way up to leadman, Rick transferred to commercial construction where he worked his way up to become one of the youngest Journeyman superintendents in the union.
Rick ultimately moved to Jacksonville Florida and founded Northeast Florida Contracting (“NEFCON”) in 2003 after receiving his Florida Certified General Contractor License.
Northeast Florida Contracting is active to this day and is a leading General Contracting firm in Jacksonville Florida.
In 2021, Rick won the “Building of the Year” award in the “under 20,000 square feet” category from the North Florida Building Association.
Rick has decades of experience in residential construction and now specializes in luxury residential development with an unwavering commitment to quality, attention to detail, timely construction and client satisfaction.
Rick is an active member at both The Ponte Vedra Inn & Club and The Ponte Vedra Lodge & Club.
Rick’s hobbies include motorcycle riding, boating, spending time with his wife and children, cooking, and hosting his friends at his home in Ponte Vedra.
